Creator of Manchester based club night ‘Prohibition,’ Emma Clair is fast making a name for herself as one of the leading female DJs in the UK!
From Switzerland, to Oxford, Liverpool to Manchester, over the last 6 months, Emma has wowed crowds across the UK and Europe, with a sound that crosses over between Traditional Swing and House music!
On 6th April 2018, Emma’s 1920s inspired brand Prohibition celebrated it’s 5th Birthday with a big party at The Ruby Lounge. Pushing the boundaries of a ‘club night’ The Casino Royale theme brought an immersive clubbing experience with an optional but encouraged 1920s dress code, Casino Games, Show Girls, Visuals, Live Music, DJs and Confetti Cannons!
Working as a promoter and booker has enabled Emma to perform alongside some of her most respected artists in the world including Bart & Baker, The Electric Swing Circus, Mr B The Gentleman Rhythmer, C@ In The H@ and Justin Fidele.
Emma is one of the most energetic DJs you will ever see! A real show girl, there is never a dull moment when she is behind the decks! Emma’s sets are infectiously upbeat, and her ‘no prisoners’ style of mixing keeps the crowd on it’s toes, with loops and acapellas added live in the mix!
Full of energy and creativity, she always takes the dancefloor on a journey with music that will put a smile on your face!
When festival season hits and the crowds are wanting lots of bass, Emma brings out her hard hitting tracks!! Mixing her iconic sound with elements of ghetto funk and swing & bass!
In May 2018, Emma will celebrate her 10 year milestone as a DJ! Playing her first gig, on vinyl at a little pub in Accrington back in 2008!
Learning to mix on vinyl has given Emma a valuable understanding of the fundamental skills of DJing and she still has all her records and Technics 1210s taking pride of place in her home studio!
Emma has been working hard on carving her own sound through music production and 2018 is set to be an exciting year for Emma, with a track just released on one of Electro Swing’s most respected record labels, ‘Freshly Squeezed Music’.
On plan for this year is more time in the studio, with the hope to release an original EP by April 2019!
